From pumpkin launches, a spooky Monster Academy, and an annual gingerbread house competition, Orange County’s favorite indoor kid museum warmly welcomes the holiday season. Get ready to relish in all the pumpkin and gingerbread goodness your heart desires by partaking in these spooky and cheery end-of-the-year events!

Spooky Science – Now Through October 31, 2018

Spend this Halloween season all dressed up and ready to explore as a newly enrolled student in Monster Academy! Learn from the world’s most famous monsters with activities that focus on creative play, shapes, and colors as part of the Cube’s Early Learning Core Initiative and electricity, chemistry, and optical illusions as part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Proficiency Core Initiative.

The Lion Guard – Now Through January 13, 2019

Experience an exciting journey through the African savanna and take a walk on the wild side in this interactive and fully immersive exhibition based on Disney Junior’s hit series The Lion Guard. This exhibit takes young children on an adventure through Pride Lands with hands-on activities and imaginative play where they’ll get to work as a team to protect the Circle of Life.

Pumpkin Launch (at Cal State Fullerton in OC) – November 3, 2018 from 10am – 2pm

Join Discovery Cube and Cal State Fullerton for a day of engineering, flying, and lots and lots of pumpkin smashing! This free community event invites local engineer clubs and student engineers to build their own pumpkin-launching machines using STEM principles. The team with the highest score wins! Spectators can enjoy hands-on activities and challenges too, so don’t miss out on the entertainment!

Science of Gingerbread – November 21 Through January 6, 2019

Science plays a huge role in the kitchen – from using heat, math, engineering and other components. In this annual cooking competition, kids will learn what it really takes to create delicious holiday treats. Local schools, families and businesses regularly participate in this seasonal activity. Make sure to join in on the fun for a chance to win some amazing prizes!
