Part 2 | Isamu Noguchi: Master of Stone
As a young man Isamu Noguchi worked in the studio of Constantin Brâncuși and then traveled to Japan where he was inspired by Buddhist funerary figures. In the U.S., he became deeply influenced by Surrealism. In this lecture we will consider Noguchi’s career as a reflection of the multi-variant influences of Modern art in the 20th century. With Noguchi’s later work and his California Scenario in Costa Mesa, as the ultimate culmination of these influences.
