This popular event is turning 10! Pumpkins, as a rule, stay close to the vine. But have you ever seen a squash go soaring, high through the air? Join Discovery Cube and Cal State University, Fullerton at Cal State Fullerton’s athletic field for a day of flight, engineering, and pumpkin-smashed hijinks on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pumpkin Launch contestants use the principles of STEM to build trebuchet machines that send pumpkins high in the sky and towards targets that line the field. The team with the highest score wins the Pumpkin Launch trophy!
It isn’t all about cheering on the stem-topped soarers, though. There are hands-on activities for spectators to enjoy and some cool challenges, too. Plus, food trucks will be out, so have a bite and keep your energy up. Competition begins at 12:30pm.
Cal State Fullerton’s athletic field is located at 800 N. State College Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92831.
