When Women Ruled The World Dr. Kara Cooney

  • Bowers Museum 2002 North Main Street Santa Ana, CA 92706 (map)

Presented by Dr. Kara Cooney, renowned Egyptologist and Professor of Egyptology, UCLA
In this lecture Dr. Cooney will look at a time in ancient history when women ruled the world. Often neglected in the history books, these women were considered exceptions to the rule, political pawns in a patriarchal society. But their power and influence is undeniable. What can we learn from how these women ruled?

This lecture is presented in support of Dr. Cooney's acclaimed and recently published book, When Women Ruled the World: Six Queens of Egypt. Book-signing to follow lecture in John M. Lee Court. When Women Ruled the World is available for purchase in the gallery store.
