Lunar New Year Festival at Bowers Museum

Welcome the year of the brave, sincere, and lucky pig! Celebrate with lion, dragon, and classical Asian dance, music, and art projects. Enjoy painting a paper lantern, getting your face painted, and eating a delicious egg roll treat.


10 AM – 4 PM | FREE GALLERY ADMISSION in conjunction with So Cal Museum’s Free-For-All-Day

11:30 AM – 12 PM in JOHN M. LEE COURT | Tai Chi Demonstration By “Wu Style Meditative Tai Chi for Health”


11 AM – 3 PM | Hanfu Dress-Up/Photo-Op, Face Painting, and Art Projects Create your own paper lanterns and Chinese fan; enjoy an egg roll treat; and meet special guest, Carnita, the pig!
12 PM | Lion and Dragon Dance By J.C. Culture

12:30 PM | YAYA Dance Academy Performing traditional and ethnic Chinese dance

12:50 PM | Emily Wu and Sunny Yang Performing classical violin music

1:15 PM | Intermission

2 PM | Fusion Duet By Bei Bei and Jon Monter

2:30 PM | Changing Faces By Ning Cheng

2:45 PM | Hanfu Showcase Extraordinary fashion show by SINOUS Hanfu Troupe, featuring the Wei Jin, Tang, Song, and Ming dynasties
